Brenda
hails from Mississippi and Tennessee. She has had a
successful career in the corporate arena for many years,
and she has been active in the Presbyterian church for
over 25 years. Brenda received her BA in sociology from
the University of Memphis. She earned her MA degree
in Community Counseling from Regent University, is a
National Certified Counselor (NCC), and is a member
of the American Counseling Association. In the recent
past, Brenda was also adjunct faculty at Regent University
in the undergraduate Psychology program.
Brenda interned at Dominion
Hospital in Falls Church, Virginia where she worked
with adults on issues relating to depression, suicidal
ideation, personality disorders, grief, women's issues,
anxiety disorders, sexual abuse, and substance abuse.
Brenda also led the experiential group for the Group
Counseling Course at Regent University (Alexandria,
VA) in the spring semester of 2005. In addition, she
has experience in leading process groups.
Brenda has one grown son,
is married, and resides in Northern Virginia. She relates
well to people of all backgrounds, and has special interest
in women's issues. As written by author Stormie Omartian,
Brenda feels that God has faithfully given her "just
enough light for the step she is on" throughout her
life, and she feels led to assist in bringing healing
into the lives of others who desire help.
