and ministry background. She has been involved in ministry
since coming to Christ in 1979. Prior to returning to
school to earn her Master's in Human Services Counseling
and her Post-Master's Certificate of Advanced Counseling
Studies from Regent University, Chris worked extensively
in women's ministry, was a founding member of South
Potomac Church, served on the executive board of their
home schooling ministry, South Potomac Educational Alternatives
Resource (SPEAR), and held various church and community
leadership positions. After earning her Master’s
she began her private practice in Southern Maryland
in 2003.
In 2004, she affiliated with an existing
practice and the next year assumed the ownership and
management of their small practice in Clinton, Maryland.
Over the next 3 years, she expanded into ten sites throughout
Maryland, NW DC, Alexandria and Virginia Beach, Va.
In 2008, to better reflect the regional nature and mission
of her practice, she renamed the practice, Life Christian
Counseling Network. LCCN. Currently has 17 sites and
30 counselors working throughout Maryland, DC, and Virginia.
Chris has profound empathy
for people and believes that within a trusting, compassionate
relationship longings are identified and nurtured, and
wounded hearts are healed. She has experienced how God
uses sound clinical interventions to change lives and
is passionate about providing a safe haven where people
can explore how they can be transformed by God's healing
grace and truth. She is a sought after counselor, teaches,
supervises counselors in training, and writes and speaks
on the integration of professional, clinical counseling
and Christian faith. She is working on her Doctorate
in Counseling Education and Supervision from Regent
University.
