Karen H. Hubbard, LGPC, MA

Karen Hubbard sees clients in Waldorf, MD.

I am a Master’s level counselor with a passion for helping women who are seeking healing from domestic violence, sexual abuse, and post-abortion stress symptoms. I also have experience counseling individuals and women who face unplanned pregnancies.

As I consider the calling that God has given me to counsel others, I am reminded of the promises God has given in Isaiah 61:1-3: The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion—to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor.

I grew up in a Christian family and am blessed to have a strong foundation in Bible training through my church, high school, and college education. My father died when I was four years old, but I was blessed to have an extended family that helped my family through the grief of his loss. I have been married for 32 years and have three adult sons. While my children were growing up, I managed my cleaning service to give me a flexible work-family balance. Now, I am looking forward to beginning this new season of my life as I train to begin my counseling career.
