to LIFE COACHING
Peter
is a long-time resident of the Southern Maryland/DC
Metro Area and has always worked to make his community
a better place. Entering into surveying and the carpentry
trade, Peter quickly developed his own carpentry contracting
company, and was responsible for building homes in many
developments in Southern Maryland and Northern Virginia.
He was also project manager and site developer for Washington
Homes, one of the largest home building companies in
the Washington, D.C. metro area.
In 1985, Peter changed careers completely
to be more available to his young family. After 15 years
of working with the trade industry and three years with
Washington Homes, he co-founded a direct mail advertising
company, The Erin Group, Ltd, eventually serving as
president. His wife, Christine, also worked alongside
him with the Erin Group for many years.
During this time of starting up his
own company, Peter and Chris, together with several
other families in the area, worked to help start South
Potomac Church, a non-denominational, seeker-sensitive
church in Southern Maryland. While this church began
with only 5 original families, after years of careful
planning and leadership, the church grew to a membership
of well over 500 people and families today. With his
wife they have hosted a small group Bible study in their
home for most of the last 20 years.
Peter has worked with many groups
of people in many different circumstances to help people
improve themselves and their families. He coached and
managed Little League Baseball as well as the Jr. Varsity
Baseball Team with Grace Brethren Christian School in
Clinton, MD. He is an avid shotgun shooter and is currently
enjoying shooting with and coaching young men and women
from St. Mary’s College Recreational Clay Shooting
Group to help them better learn the competitive shooting
games of Trap, Skeet and Sporting Clays.
Continuing in his role of leadership,
Peter has served on the Board of Directors and is currently
serving as President of the St. Charles Sportsman’s
Club in Waldorf, MD. Having a total membership of more
than 535 individuals and families, the Sportsman’s
Club responsibilities require problem solving and decision
making as well as working with a leadership team of
10 men and women. The President of St. Charles Sportsman’s
Club also serves as President and CEO of S&K Homes,
Inc - T/A Middleton Hall, a banquet facility serving
Charles, Prince George’s, St. Mary’s Counties,
and the surrounding area.
Peter’s walk with the Lord started
later in life, when at age 30, he began to ask questions
about life and life’s direction. “One of
the most important questions I asked was, “What’s
so important about this person, Jesus Christ, anyway?
Well, the Holy Spirit will open up when he hears a knock
at the door. Life went from being played out in black
and white to being in full fleged color!” Reading,
studying, and growing in understanding about that question
to its fullest, has put Peter on a path that has consumed
the last 30 years of his life. He continued, “There
has never been a time when I have turned around and
doubted what was done in those early moments of being
connected with God’s plan for my life.”
In 2003, Peter joined his wife
as the practice manager for their Christian counseling
practice now operating as Life Christian Counseling
Network. Peter is a strong advocate for the benefit
of counseling and understands how important this service
is in the lives of those who choose healing through
counseling. Peter is a certified Life Coach through
the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC)
and a member of AACC. He loves American history and
is knowledgeable and articulate about the framing and
development of United States constitutional governing
framework. He enjoys reading, the outdoors, spending
time with his wife and son, and travel especially in
France when possible.
