Jenny Dees, MA Intern
Jenny Dees is an M.A. Intern at Life Christian Counseling Network, where she integrates her extensive experience and deep faith into providing compassionate and effective counseling services. With a distinguished 22-year career as a U.S. Air Force Veteran and her ordination as a Christian Minister, Jenny brings a unique blend of skills and insights to her role.
In her internship, Jenny focuses on offering individualized, family, pre-marital, and couples counseling, developing personalized treatment plans, and collaborating with her team to ensure comprehensive care. Her military background, and experience in the role of a First Sergeant allow her to recognize when additional resources may be beneficial and has equipped her with strong leadership, resilience, and strategic skills, while her ordination enhances her ability to incorporate faith-based principles into her practice. Her preference for utilizing CBT and Gestalt Therapy are foundational, while additional modalities may be employed, specifically tailored per the needs of each client.
Jenny holds a Bachelor of Science in Christian Counseling from Liberty University and is currently completing her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health and Counseling. This advanced education enhances her ability to blend faith-based and evidence-based practices effectively.
Outside of her professional life, Jenny is a devoted wife and mother in a blended family, where she and her husband have raised five children, and has extended her care and devotion to children as a youth minister for ten years. Her experiences in managing a blended family and teaching children in the word of God contribute to her empathetic approach and understanding in counseling. Additionally, Jenny's love for teaching God's word through the Bible to adults and children allow her to share her passion for spiritual growth and connect with others on a deeper level.
Jenny is passionate about the word of God, and her long-term aspiration is to complete a Doctorate’s degree in Pastoral Counseling, leveraging her diverse background and experiences to make a meaningful impact in the field of mental health and in the Church.
In her personal time, Jenny enjoys traveling and ministering to others globally, which complement her well-rounded approach to client care and her commitment to holistic well-being.
